Having trained in Integrative Counselling at one of the U.K.’s most prestigious counselling centres, The Iron Mill Institute (BACP Accredited Course), I specialise in the areas of depression, anxiety, relationship and bereavement issues.

Integrative Counselling is a combined approach that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Integrative therapists believe that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations. Each person needs to be considered as a whole and counselling techniques must be tailored to the individual’s needs and personal circumstances.

My approach is direct, solution-focused and emotionally orientated. This empirically supported method is based on emotional attachment theory which views emotions as centrally influential in our behaviour. Making sense of our emotions helps us to create healthier thinking and behaviour patterns, leading to improved mental and physical health. When we are healthily in tune with ourselves and the world around us, life becomes more meaningful, joyful and fulfilling. Potential is realised, difficult challenges overcome and positivity flows for ourselves and those around us.

As well as a depth of professional expertise helping many clients to wellness through Counselling, I’m also a fully qualified teacher (PGCE, University Of Exeter) and formerly a member of Cambridge University’s International Board of Examiners. I also volunteer for The Samaritans which is something I’m deeply passionate about.
