Individual Counselling

Individual therapy is suitable for those clients who wish to explore their feelings in a safe, confidential and therapeutic setting where they can share their feelings with a qualified counsellor.

Individual therapy is generally more expensive than couple counselling or group counselling as the client has the therapist’s undivided attention for the whole session and does not have to share this with another person.

The therapist explains the contract with the client on the first session. This contract covers the counsellor’s confidentiality policy, legal obligations, agreed frequency of therapy appointments and number of sessions.

Individual therapy session usually last from 50 minutes to 1 hour, and can be in the form of traditional face-to-face counselling, or the more flexible telephone or online counselling.
